David E. Weinstein, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Weinstein is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of GliaMed, and was formerly a professor in the Departments of Neuroscience and Pathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of multiple sclerosis, brain tumor research and spinal cord and nerve regeneration, and has served as a consultant and advisor to both the NIH and the WHO, as well as to a number of scientific research organizations including the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation, the Christopher Reeves Paralysis Foundation, the Paralyzed Veterans of America/Spinal Cord Research Foundation and the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.

Robert Kirsner, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Kirsner is Steifel Laboratories Professor and Vice Chairman of the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. An NIH funded researcher, Dr. Kirsner co-directs the largest multi-disciplinary wound care meeting in the U.S., the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care (SAWC). He is co-editor of a comprehensive book, “Wound Healing,” and has authored more than 240 peer reviewed articles. His publications include major medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet and Annals of Internal Medicine. Former president of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) and currently serving on the Wound Healing Society (WHS) board, he also serves on multiple editorial boards for dermatology and wound management journals.

Thomas A. Mustoe, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Thomas A. Mustoe, M.D., F.A.C.S. Dr. Mustoe is Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University. He is a board certified Plastic Surgeon and is also board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, having completed residencies in both specialties. Dr. Mustoe received both his college and medical degrees with honors from Harvard University. He has coauthored more than 200 articles and book chapters, and lectured nationally and internationally on subjects of facial cosmetic and breast surgery. He has previously served as a consultant to the FDA, and continues to do externally funded research on wound healing and scarring.

Dennis P. Orgill, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Orgill is a Plastic Surgeon specializing in adult reconstructive surgery. In graduate school at MIT he worked on the development of artificial skin for burn victims. He completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and trained in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has numerous publications on wound healing and skin regeneration and continues an active laboratory effort in these areas.

Thomas E. Serena, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Serena is founder and medical director of the Penn North Centers for advanced wound care, and has been the lead or principal investigator in more than 40 clinical trials across a spectrum of therapeutic approaches, including small molecules, cell therapy, growth factors and bioengineered skin. He is recognized internationally as an expert in wound healing and has published more than 70 papers and given more than 150 presentations on the topic. He was a member of the board of directors of The Wound Healing Society from 2003-2006 and is currently responsible for writing the U.S. Standards of Care guidelines for the treatment and prevention of chronic wounds. Presently he serves on the board of directors of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care(AAWC).
