Stroke

A stroke is a rapid loss of brain function caused by a change in blood flow to the brain. Strokes can be caused either by lack of blood supply, for example because of blockage of an artery that feeds into the brain, or by a hemorrhage. As a result, the affected area of the brain is unable to function. Survivors frequently have long-term neurological damage as a result of scarring of the brain tissue.

GliaMed has initiated preclinical studies to evaluate the effects of RIL administration in an animal model of stroke.
